Agricultural Design & Analysis Trainee/Graduate Position - Toowoomba

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our experienced Ag Survey & Design team, who will provide mentoring and support as you develop your skills on the job.

The position focuses on agricultural design and spatial analysis, working with LiDAR and other elevation data to produce earthworks and farm layout designs that improve drainage, reduce erosion, and enhance farm efficiency.

You’ll also assist with agricultural GIS analysis, using layers such as elevation, NDVI, and EM data to assess field variability and develop variable rate application maps.

While primarily office-based, the position may include occasional fieldwork supporting our in-house surveyor, client meetings and project supervision/management.

This position offers a unique opportunity to apply and build your technical skills in CAD design, spatial data processing, and precision agriculture, while working on practical, real-world farming projects.

We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and an understanding of general farming operations.

Desired Skills and Experience

While not essential, it would be advantageous to:

• Have recently completed or be nearing completion of a degree preferably in Agricultural
• Engineering, or associated degrees in Agronomy, Soil Science, Engineering, Surveying, Data Science, GIS or Computer Science.
• Demonstrate a strong interest in agriculture, and a desire to innovate and continually improve.
• Be self-motivated, analytical, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• Have a basic understanding of geospatial and precision agriculture technologies, including GPS, drones, and remote sensing.
• Be enthusiastic and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.
• Possess strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts.
• Be computer proficient, ideally with experience in CAD, GIS & Farm Management software.
• Hold a current driver’s licence (required).
