Brendan Burton

Brendan earned a Bachelor of Rural Science from the University of New England in 1998. Since then, he has accumulated over 26 years of experience in the agricultural industry, encompassing commercial broadacre and horticultural agronomy, as well as research agronomy.


Before joining MCA Ag Group, Brendan spent nine years with the Northern Grower Alliance (NGA), where he gained extensive expertise in applied agronomic research. In this role, he concentrated on large-scale commercial trials, particularly in the context of farming systems. His highlights include research on zero-till farming, with a focus on the effects of ground cover, crop type, and stubble height on fallow water efficiency and subsequent crop performance.


Brendan became a part of MCA Ag Group in 2023, where he has played a considerable role in establishing MCA’s Ag Research division. He is passionate about applied agronomic research that enhances efficiency and productivity for farmers and contributes to the advancement of the agricultural industry.
