DIRECTOR & CONSULTANT
BScAgr, Churchill Fellow
Paul earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Sydney in 1984. He commenced his career in agriculture with the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) in 1985. During this period, he advanced from Young in Southern NSW to serve as the district agronomist in both Coonamble and Moree West. In 1994, Paul transitioned to commercial agronomy with McGregor Gourlay in Moree. In 1996, he was honoured with a Churchill Fellowship to study advancements in farming systems in the cotton-growing regions of the United States.
In 1997, Paul relocated to Goondiwindi, joining forces with his brother Michael under the MCA banner. By 2005, he had established our Toowoomba branch, expanding our services to meet the needs of a wider geographical area.
In addition to providing direct agronomic support alongside his team to a network of growers in the Downs and Western Downs, Paul plays a significant role in developing and extending grains research ideas to the broader MCA team and client base. This work builds on his extensive experience as an extension agronomist with the NSW DPI.
Paul has also contributed significantly to the Northern Grower Alliance board and research committee, and is now assisting in MCA's efforts in their own grain research projects.
Paul is passionate about enhancing the understanding of the northern farming system and translating this knowledge into practical, sustainable, and profitable practices for grain growers in the region.
Looking forward, Paul aspires to leverage his expertise in agricultural development projects overseas.
